OUR CREATIVE CORNER
February 17th 2014
The idea of having a creative corner for the kids was a need for me! more than for them, just to avoid having all kinds of paper, crayons, scissors and whashis all around! you know kids! They colonize everything and they finally got the whole house as their “playroom” !LOL!
So I took advantage of the fact that I had to make some improvements in the play room and I made them a creative corner; This way everything is tidy for them to have all they need in the same place!
It was good because we got to set the washi deer we made last year for Petit on in a different place.
We organized everything around the Ikea table and the chairs we already had, and since you already know our obsession with chalkpaint…we painted them in a purplish grey combined with turquoise vintage. It’s a good idea because if they run out of paper they can use the table as a blackboard to draw!
We made this board with pallet planks to order the activities they do, the season wheel and many others. They can also paint on it!
We added a bar and the bottles to put markers, crayons and any crafts material inside.
The awning that frames our creative corner is also a DIY we did some time ago; hereyou can have a look at it.
You have to see them playing among tables, the awning, the board and wheels with their imagination, this is great place to create!
And as you can see the shelve has a little trick…because it’s not only used to keep things on each basket but also to separate both environments, like a folding screen; if you pay attention you can see our threadmill just behind! but thanks to the shelve it can’t be seen! and can be perfectly integrated into the playroom without being out of place!
And as you can imagine kids have a blast in this creative corner in their playroom!
